For almost 15 years, the French band Les Yeux Noirs (The Black Eyes) has been energetically spreading its own brand of Yiddish and Gypsy music around the entire world.
At the core of the septet are the dueling fiddles of brothers Eric and Olivier Slabiak, singing in French and bowing exhilarating instrumental passages. Their first live record, released in 2002, was their North American breakout, followed by their studio release Tchorba (Soup) in 2004.
