It's Time for Noon Fifteen
The CFCU Downtown Ithaca Summer Concert Series continues this week with Noon Fifteen, the Ithaca-based progressive soul-rock band that features complex vocal harmonies and deft instrumentation. Trumansburg singer-songwriter Rena Guinn will be playing songs from her recently released EP, “Shine,” which showcases her captivating blend of folk, country and blues. The “Friday Night Farm Jams” summer series continues with local favorite Sim Redmond, who will be joined by Sim Redmond Band guitarist Nate Richardson for a family-friendly show. “It will be me and Nate, old school, like back in the days at ABC Cafe!!” says Sim. “We haven’t done a duo show in quite a while. Occasionally we have done acoustic trio gigs with (SRB vocalist) Jen Middaugh, but it’ll be fun to dust off the duo material, and get a handful of Nate’s great songs in the mix.”

Fiddle Fever
Celtic fiddle master Tim Ball will showcase his “Upstate Crossroads” project, which “sheds new light on nearly forgotten tunes and old favorites from all corners of the state, as well as drawing repertoire and inspiration from the surrounding Irish-American, New England, Canadian, and Bluegrass traditions.” He’ll be joined for this concert by pianist Jane Knoeck, who has more than 30 years of experience playing traditional dance music. Note: due to the recent guidance from the CDC and Tompkins County, this show will take place outdoors at the side yard of the Conservatory.
