COVID-19 has adversely impacted the area’s music scene, with many concerts cancelled in recent days. But there are still some noteworthy shows happening if you’d like to catch some live music this weekend.

It’s Happy Hour Again

Friday, catch some happy hour shows around the area: Richie Stearns return to South Hill Cider has been cancelled, but Three Stone Fire is at Hopshire Farm and Brewery at 6-8 p.m., Harry Nichols is at Ithaca Bakery at 6-8 p.m., Teddy Kilts and Darrell Negley are at Flynn’s Roadhouse at 7-9 p.m., The Swampcats are at the Westy at 7-9 p.m., the Analogue Sons are at Two Goats Brewing at 7-10 p.m., the Notorious Stringbusters are at Garrett’s Brewing in Trumansburg at 7-9 p.m., and Raedwald returns to Bike Bar Ithaca at 7-9 p.m. In greater Cortland, Doug Houck, Rocco Rich and Aaron Craig are at Summerhill Brewing at 5-8 p.m.; Digger Jones is at BRU 64 at 8 p.m. (postponed!); the Starmer Brothers are at Cortland Beer Company at 7 p.m.; and Tribal Revival is at One Cent Saloon at 9:30 p.m.

Dead Reckoning

Terrapin Station returns for a night of Grateful Dead classics, as frontmen Larry Honigbaum and Frank Raponi will draw from all eras of the Dead’s deep catalog. There’s a cover for the 9 p.m. show.

Let’s Dance

The Trumansburg Conservatory of Fine Arts will host St. Patrick’s Ceili Irish Dance, with live music provided by local Celtic band Three Stone Fire, and dance instruction and calling by Kathy Whitfield of Rince Na Saor Irish Dance Studio All are welcome, and no previous experience is needed.

NYS Baroque will present "The Panther and the Rose" Saturday night.

‘The Panther and the Rose’

In its latest concert “The Panther and the Rose,” NYS Baroque will explore rarely heard Italian music from the 14th century, presenting works by most prominent composers of the time: Johannes Ciconia, who wrote in both French and Italian styles; Francesco Landini, the organist known as “Francesco the Blind”; and others. Countertenor Andrew Rader will make his NYS Baroque debut, joined by Jonas Budris, tenor; Dongmyung Ahn, vielle; and Christa Patton, harp, recorder, shawm, bagpipes.
