Sacred Sounds
Adrian DiMatteo and Nicole Adriana Casanova will make their Ithaca debut. A native of Rochester, DiMatteo performs originals as well as sacred chants and mantras from ancient native, tribal, and indigenous cultures, while Casanova draws on decades of experience in yoga, reiki and meditation in her writing, poetry and storytelling.

Funk Fun
Sophistafunk returns to downtown Ithaca. Based in Syracuse, the hard-touring trio of Adam Gold, Jack Brown and Emanuel Washington has been building its popularity around the country in recent years with its high-energy blend of hiphop, funk and rock. DJ Gourd will open the show, spinning classic tunes from his vast vinyl trove.

Green Day
Good Life Farm in Interlaken will host the eight annual Asparaganza, its celebration of all things asparagus. The event will feature a variety of family-friendly activities, as well as live music from TOiVo (1-3 p.m.), Strange Heavy (3:30-5:30 p.m.) and Motherwort (6-8 p.m.).

Rising Up
Singer-songwriter and musical satirist Roy Zimmerman will bring his show “RiZe Up” to Ithaca; it’s 90 minutes of Zimmerman’s original songs, a funny and forceful affirmation of peace and social justice. “It’s laughter and encouragement for progressive-minded people who need a lot of both,” he says.

Local Heroes
The Sim Redmond Band will make its debut performance at The Range. The longtime local favorites are gearing up for a busy summer of outdoor shows, but this will be a rare opportunity to see them in a more intimate setting. Dan Keller, formerly of Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, opens the night with the premiere performance from his solo project.

Dancing on the Edge
“POP'd at the Cherry” returns, with Spirit Posse and Mighty Productions joining forces to present a unique pop-up dance club experience. Emceed by the Mighty Mickie Quinn, the event will feature Binghamton's gorgeous drag superstar, Cherry Blasé; Lulu La Femme from Syracuse’s Salt City Burlesque; Ithaca’s own Deja Ciaschi along with drag powerhouse Two Tequilas and a Gin; and Tantrik, the Mystik from Kazakhstan, with his daring dance moves. DJ Tuggle and Spirit Posse’s The Dutchess, will spin tunes throughout. Get there early—admission is not guaranteed after 10:30 p.m.
