It’s another hot day in Ithaca, but there are some cool shows happening around town tonight, including an album release show and a special two-band show on the Commons.
Outstanding In Their Field
Two of the Finger Lakes’ most talented and versatile musicians have joined forces to record a new album. Bobby Henrie and Aaron Lipp will mark the release of “Lonesome Hillside,” which features a mix of original and traditional songs encompassing dual-flatpicking tunes, banjo-fiddle duets and more.

Double Header
The CFCU Downtown Ithaca Summer Concert Series continues this week with an extended show featuring two local acts: Bead N Bone at 5:30 p.m. and Empire Kings at 7:20 p.m. Fronted by singer-guitarist London McDaniel, the alt-reggae band Bead N Bone includes Shawn Seals on keys, Jabare on bass, Eesa on drums, and Alina Kim on vocals. Empire Kings is an Ithaca-based hiphop group that includes Ave DJ Cdz Nutz and emcees Ave Mack, Tweaky and Shopping Bag Izzy, who vow to “create music about the current events in our broken world to songs that make you want to dance.”

Going Solo
Road Man, the rock-soul-funk-reggae musical project of Jon Petronzio (ex-John Brown’s Body and Revision), will play a special solo set at the Ithaca Farmers Market to support the Youth Entrepreneurship Market, which features young entrepreneurs selling their wares.

Singing Out
SingTrece will showcase her powerhouse vocal style in downtown Ithaca. A playwright, director, actress, singer, songwriter, mother, and wife, SingTrece aims to “change hearts one positive note at a time." Learn more here.

Lake Cruise
Cruise Control continues Lansing's summer “Music in the Park” series – the Auburn-based band plays a danceable mix of blues, country and rock songs. The lineup features singers Kevin Carpenter and Christina Marie House along with guitarist Pat Doyle and Brian Machold, Dave D’Alberto, Steve Bertonica and Paul Liberatore. Find out more here.
