Immersed in Noise
Sergio Cote Barco and Juan Carlos Melendez-Torres will present “la era del ruido: an immersive noise experience.” They say: “our performance attempts to enact a fugitive enfleshment of Latinidad through sympathetic bodily vibration and co-presence. In mobilizing the haptic qualities of sound at high volumes and long durations, we hope to make felt our presence and the presences of our ancestors. In disassembling intersubjective boundaries through shared embodied experience, we can begin to reimagine the exclusive category of man entirely.”
