Clare And The Reasons On Mountain Stage

Clare and Olivier Manchon are at the heart of the chamber-folk ensemble Clare and the Reasons, which performs songs from its album Arrow in its first appearance on Mountain Stage. Lead vocalist Clare Muldaur Manchon also handles guitars, kazoo and a tambourine (played with her foot), while Olivier plays violin, bass and percussion and provides backing vocals.

Joining them is Bob Hart, who worked on the Arrow sessions, playing bass, keyboards, clarinet and percussion, while also singing background vocals. For this performance, the band is joined by a trio of brass horns, led by Dr. Keith Jackson, Chair of the Division of Music at West Virginia University in Morgantown, W. Va., where this episode was recorded. The band closes with a crowd-pleasing cover of Genesis' "That's All," which also appears on Arrow.

This segment originally ran on June 16, 2010.
