It's another busy weekend on the Ithaca scene, with plenty of styles of music -- everything from bluegrass and folk-punk to rock and jazz -- offered up by local venues.
Guitar Hero
After a long hiatus, legendary guitarist Leo Kottke returns to Ithaca. For more than 50 years, the 73-year-old Kottke has been honing his inimitable style, which draws inspiration from blues, folk, classical and more. In the 1970s, he released several influential albums, including 1974’s “Dreams and All That Stuff” and 1975's “Chewing Pine.” Along the way, he’s earned a couple of Grammy nominations and also released two albums with Phish bassist Mike Gordon, 2002’s “Clone” and 2005’s “Sixty Six Steps.”

Double Header
The Haunt will host a pair of shows, with Danny Paolangeli and Friends returning at 6 p.m. to share a free happy hour show with Throw Down Cold. They’ll be followed by Terrapin Station at 9 p.m. for an evening of Grateful Dead classics.

Underground Folk
New York City-based urban folk troubadour Jeffrey Lewis will return with his band Los Bolts, with Brent (Moldy Peaches) Cole on drums and Mem (Cat Tatt) Pahl on bass and keys. He has released seven albums on Rough Trade Records, more on other labels, and also is a prolific comic book artist and publisher. Also on the bill are locals Vicious Fishes and the Alexander Bradshaw Band.

Reggae on Film
“Rhythm & Reels,” the new series curated by DJ Tuggle at Cineampolis, will host its second event Friday night with the screening of “The Harder They Come.”
Presented in conjunction with the Ithaca Reggae Fest, the 1972 film starring Jimmy Cliff was remastered and restored for its 40th anniversary, and is chock-full of classic tunes such as “Pressure Drop,” “You Can Get It If You Really Want,” “Many Rivers to Cross” and the title track.

Bowling Bash
Atlas Bowl in Trumansburg will host “Lebowski Bowl 3,” its annual themed costume party paying tribute to “The Big Lebowski.” This year will feature “dude-like debauchery – in drag!” with performances from Two Tequilas and A Gin, sets from DJ E-Rich and DJ Double A, and open bowling. And be sure to head over to the nearby Silver Line Tap Room to see the return of psychedelic rockers Infrared Radiation Orchestra!

Bluegrass and Beyond
Dirty Blanket will return to Ithaca. Led by guitarist Max Flansburg and lead singer-songwriter Kevin "Blanket" O'Leary, the Canandaigua-based bluegrass band has released two albums: “Long Time Comin’” and “My Getaway.”

Visitor from Vermont
Burlington, Vt.-based singer-songwriter Henry Jamison returns to Ithaca to promote his new album, “Gloria Duplex,” which has received kudos from Rolling Stone, World Cafe, American Songwriter, and others. He’ll be joined by a full band on his first headlining tour. duo Saint Sister will open.

Trio Grande
The Mofos will return for a rare gig, with Ohio-based guitarist Gary Siperko returning to reunite with drummer Matt Saccuccimorano and bassist Eric Trichon for a night of “instro-metal” classics that blend surf, metal, rock and more. The Low Spirits, from Rochester, will open.

Returning to Rock

Ready to Rock
Ithaca indie-rock bands Alter Koker and the Settlers will team for an early evening show. Fronted by Ami Ben-Yaacov and Eva Revesz, Alter Koker released a new album last year on bandcamp.com. The Settlers – Ciele Gladstein and Cosmo Alpern – recently reunited at Record Store Day for their first show in many years.

School’s Out
