Psychobilly Freakout

Tiger Army will make its Ithaca debut. The California psychobilly trio is fronted by Nick 13 on guitar with Djordje Stijepovic on upright bass and Mike Fasano on drums, and recently released its sixth album, “Retrofuture.” Kate Clover and SadGirl will open the show

Cinemapolis will screen the new ZZ Top documentary on Tuesday night.

Sharp Dressed Men

For one night only, Cinemapolis will present “ZZ Top: That Little Ol' Band from Texas.” Directed by Sam Dunn, the film documents the story of “how three oddball teenage bluesmen became one of the biggest, most beloved bands on the planet.” Founding members Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard are interviewed, along with several of their musical peers. Three of a Kind

Jazz trio Argos Grove – Ithaca College faculty members Nicholas Walker (bass), Greg Evans (drums), and Andrew Carroll (piano) – continue the celebrated Wednesday happy hour community music tradition initiated by i3° at Bar Argos. The trio’s repertoire ranges from Duke Ellington and Stevie Wonder to the Beatles, Disney, swing, funk and bossa nova.

David Gans returns to Ithaca Wednesday night to perform at Casita del Polaris with Terrapin Station.

Dead Man Touring

David Gans will return to Ithaca to perform with Terrapin Station. Host of “The Grateful Dead Hour” and co-host of “Tales from the Golden Road,” Gans tours around the country performing solo or with various Dead tribute bands such as our own Terrapin Station.

The Crucials continue their weekly Reggae Night residency in downtown Ithaca, with some of Ithaca’s top musicians joining forces for an evening of classic and obscure reggae and dub classics. DJ Jesse Hill will start off the night by spinning on the decks.

A familiar face to folk fans, Joe Jencks will return to Central New York to showcase his acoustic guitar chops and richly resonant tenor voice. The Chicago-based singer-songwriter is known for the intelligence, emotion, and humor he brings to his compositions and performances.

Ready to Ripen

Ripe is a Boston-based septet known for fusing rock, funk, R&B, jazz, and pop influences into a danceable whole, one that’s showcased on the album, “Joy in the Wild Unknown,” which was produced by Vulpeck’s Corey Wong. Castlecomer, an Australian band now based in Nashville, will open the show. Tickets are $16 and up.

Funk Night returns to downtown Ithaca, with Dean’s Kids – Dan Keller, Max Shuhan, Hayden Frank, Owen Erickson and Archer Cowen – putting their spin on a bunch of classic soul, R&B and pop decade from the past 50 years.
