As Old Crow Flies
Old Crow Medicine Show returns to its former stomping grounds in Central New York. Frontman Ketch Secor, who co-founded the group while living in the Ithaca area in 1998, has seen the band through numerous lineup changes, a smash hit (“Wagon Wheel”) and eight albums, including its latest, “Live at the Ryman.” The band recently released a new song, “Pray for America.” Find out more here. Old Crow drummer Jerry Pentecost will open the show with a DJ set of country classics.

Pizza and Jazz
The Dave Davies Qtet continues its twice-monthly residency, with guitarist Davies joined by some of the area’s top players, including Eric Aceto (violin), Harry Aceto (bass), Brian Earle (clarinet) and Chad Lieberman (keyboards). Finger Lakes Flatbread will serve up pizza during the event.

Songs to Sing
Local singer-songwriter Joe Gibson returns for the weekly Firelight Live series. He’ll be playing a mix of covers and originals, including songs from his recent album, “Time To Come Alive.” Check it out here!

Riding with the Railers
The Common Railers continue the weekly “Music in the Hollow” series, bring its mix of country, blues, rock and more to Ellis Hollow. Led by guitarist Peter Glanville and multi-instrumentalist Gordon Rowland, the band’s latest album, “Isn’t It Real,” came out in 2019; check it out here!

A Matter at the Mill
Newfield’s Summer Concert Series at Mill Park concludes with the return of Erin and the Backwoods Blues Project, which features vocalist Erin Mulrooney joined by Lisa Bloom (bass), Dan Paolangeli (guitar), Glen Porter (drums) and Mike Allinger (keyboards) for a night of high-energy blues. The band released its excellent debut album, “Shake A Little Sugar,” in early 2020.

On The Rise
Hailing from Marcellus, talented singer-songwriter Sydney Irving will perform a solo show that will feature songs from her two albums, as well as her latest single, “Seasons Change. Over the summer, Irving and her band, The Mojo, have been playing relentlessly around Central New York, including an upcoming apperance at the State Fair. Learn more here.

Fair Fun
The Great New York State Fair, which bills itself as “the largest free music festival at any state fair in America,” continues in Syracuse. A variety of shows covering a huge range of genres is set for the coming days at the Chevy Court and Chevy Park stages. This week’s highlights include Foreigner (8 p.m. Monday, Chevy Park), the Spinners (2 p.m. Tuesday, Chevy Court), Jackyl (7 p.m. Tuesday, Chevy Courty), Train (8 p.m. Tuesday, Chevy Park) and REO Speedwagon (8 pm.
