Eilen Jewell returns to play the Hangar Theatre, City and Colour comes back to the State Theatre, and Pearly Baker’s Best gets a jump on Halloween weekend at the Dock. Plus, some other local favorites will perform around the area.

Two of a Kind
A longtime favorite of CNY music fans, Eilen Jewell will make a welcome return to Ithaca for a rare duo show – she’ll be accompanied by her stellar guitarist, Jerry Miller, who’s one of the best pickers around. The Boise, Idaho-based Jewell’s eighth album, “Gypsy,” was released in 2019 by Signature Sounds – it showcases her trademark blend of country, blues, and folk while further burnishing her reputation as “Queen of the Minor Key.”

Colourful Canadian
Indie-rock staple City and Colour – the project of singer-songwriter Dallas Green – will return to Ithaca for the first time since 2105 to promote its new album “A Pill for Loneliness.” Produced with Jacquire King (Tom Waits, Kings of Leon), the album showcases Green’s expanded sonic palette and emotional, evocative lyrics. A co-founder of hardcore luminaries Alexisonfire, Green also teamed up with Alecia Moore (a.k.a. P!nk) to record as folk duo “You+Me.” Ruby Waters, the fast-rising Métis/Slovakian singer-songwriter, will open the show; her EP, “If It Comes Down To It,” came out last fall.

Richman returns
The “Firelight Live” series continues with local singer-songwriter Dave Richman, who will be joined by percussionist Damien Dodge for an intimate show inside the Firelight tent.

Tuesday Bluesday continues its revival at the Dock, with Dan Paolangeli, Andy Lockwood, Lisa Bloom, and a host of other talented local musicians joining forces for a night of rockin’ blues and more.

Banjo Man
Richie Stearns returns to South Hill, bringing with him decades of experience on old-time banjo and tenor guitar, as well as his vast trove of traditional tunes and original songs from his various projects: the Horse Flies, Richie and Rosie, and many more.

Trio Grande
Local favorites Wingnut – drummer Zaun Marshburn, bassist Walt Lorenzut and keyboardist Michael Stark – return with their vast catalog of originals that draw on jazz, rock and other influences.

Positive Vibrations
A staple of the Ithaca and Brooktondale music scenes, Shaka will draw from his extensive catalog of classic roots reggae from Culture, Peter Tosh, Bob Marley and other legendary acts.

Night of the Dead
Pearly Baker’s Best returns from Syracuse for a spooky night of songs, drawing from its repertoire of nearly 200 tunes from the Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia Band, and others – not to mention the occasional original. The band includes Charley Orlando (guitar/vocals), Brian Lauri (keyboards/vocals), Eric Brown (lead guitar/vocals), Eric Wise (bass/vocals), Brian Welch (drums/vocals) and Tim Bergen (drums)
