Old Time Friends
South Hill Cider’s Community Concert Series continues with Richie Stearns and Friends, with banjo master Stearns joined by Steve Selin, Ben Gould, and Sam Schmidt. Sam and Ben are in between legs of a national concert tour with the Willie Watson band; Willie and Ben were founding members of Old Crow Medicine Show and were heavily influenced by Richie Stearns when they started in Tompkins County 25 years ago.

Positive Vibes
The Downtown Ithaca Summer Concert Series continues its 2023 season with reggae-rockers Mosaic Foundation one of Finger Lakes regions’ most popular groups. The concert series runs through Sept. 14; see the full lineup here!

Where: Bernie Milton Pavilion, the Commons

After the Mosaic Foundation show, head down the Commons to Monks for the free after-party show from 8-10 p.m.
Only a Nordic Song
The Downstairs hosts an intimate concert with Alyssa Rodriguez – aka The Fiddle Witch – the Fulbright Nordic Music Scholar who specializes in Nordic tunes from Finland and Sweden mostly on the nyckelharpa (keyed fiddle), kantele and other traditional instruments. Raised in Connecticut, she earned her bachelor’s degree of music in music composition from Ithaca College, where she began immersing herself in fiddle music and playing for dances. She has studied nyckelharpa at Sibelius Academy and with many riksspellmän (master Swedish folk musicians), and released an all-nyckelharpa album of traditional and newly composed music in 2022.
