Be Their Guest
Yosh Aerson will perform a happy hour show at Deep Dive, with the help of some friends. “Yosh Aerson is a non-binary composer and performer. Since coming to Ithaca from their hometown of Los Angeles, Yosh has found much inspiration from the Finger Lakes music scene. They are part of the new Ithacan neo-soul trio named DELAQUES, and performs regularly around the town with them. Yosh fell in love with the piano in childhood. It is their oasis in the late-stage capitalist nightmare we all endure. When they aren't softly dissociating at the mere thought of that, they are probably sitting down to play. Yosh will be performing a blend of original pieces, covers, and improvisations at the piano. Special guests will be on and off stage, depending on the vibe. There is always a seat for anyone who wants to listen. We invite you to come and enjoy the present moment, whether you come in silence, or with great company, or both.”

Welcome to the Machine
The Machine Performs Pink Floyd returns to the State Theatre. “The Machine has forged a 30+ year reputation of extending the musical legacy of Pink Floyd. The New York-based quartet performs a diverse mix of The Floyd's extensive 16-album repertoire, complete with faithful renditions of popular hits as well as obscure gems. With stellar musicianship and passionate delivery, The Machine explores collective improvisation rivaling that of an early 1970's Pink Floyd, while their use of expanded theatrical elements and elaborate stage displays and lighting continues The Floyd spirit of the 1980's. The band is also known for recreating entire albums as a part of their show, accepting requests from fans, and for taking an A - Z approach in which one song is played for every letter of the alphabet.”
The band features founding member Tahrah Cohen (drums), longtime bandmates Scott Chasolen (keys, vocals) and Ryan Ball (guitar, vocals), and newest member Chris DeAngelis (bass, lead vocals). The band continues on to celebrate the music of Pink Floyd and to honor the life of Joe Pascarell, who co-founded the band with Tahrah in 1988 and passed away in 2022.

In Harmony
Big Sky Music Studio hosts its last show of the 2023 season, welcoming Mike + Ruthy of the Mammals. “When it comes to chemistry, Mike Merenda and Ruth Ungar have plenty to spare. Onstage, they are Mike + Ruthy, a husband-and-wife duo setting the folk scene ablaze. Singers and storytellers, poets and parents, the two tour with their children in tow, embodying a down-home approach to Americana that is honest, beautiful, and raw. Bouncing between festivals and intimate venues, these troubadours bring harmony-driven fiddle and banjo tunes to more than 100 shows a year. Road-tested material such as the pair’s celebrated reharmonizing of Woody Guthrie’s “My New York City” cement Merenda and Ungar’s status as a “national treasure,” according to peer Anaïs Mitchell.”
If you go, “Bring a blanket and picnic, and relax in the summer evening with friends and family. We are featuring our own Sweet Land Farm Cellars Rosé and Cider as well as Liquid State beer. Heartland Rock
Midwestern roots-rockers Nick Dittmeier and The Sawdusters return to Central New York to play songs off their latest album, “Heavy Denim.” The Indiana-based band understands “that to stay relevant, country and Americana—like any long-running musical genres—must be unceremoniously leveled from time to time. Blasted by a cold steel wrecking ball, and reassembled into new forms atop the rubble. And what better moment for a scheduled demolition than with all of planet Earth in a holding pattern, straddling the deep chasm between past and future. Into this void arrives ‘Heavy Denim,’ an album that artfully sidesteps any slavish, formulaic adherence to roots-music traditions.”
Opening the show is the Freight duo, comprising JP Payton and Loveday of the band Freight. “While both JP and Loveday remain busy with Freight's ever-expanding tour schedule, the duo have crafted an in-demand intimate show that finds them reaching new audiences near and far. Combining the best of Freight's road-tested material and delving deeper into each individual's unique songwriting and vocal stylings, JP and Loveday offer a show fit for the limelight of Saturday night, or the the quiet reflection of Sunday morning.”

Thunder from Down Under
Australian virtuoso guitarist Daniel Champagne comes to Trumansburg to promote his latest album, “Shimmer Through the Windscreen.” He has earned raves from around the world for “reinventing roots guitar’ (Rhythms Magazine, Australia):
“The word Prodigy seems to entirely fall short of this soft-spoken young man’s skills, he coaxes sounds and melodies out of his instrument that literally drop jaws.” The Calgary Herald, CANADA
“Today I saw the future of Folk – Festival goers flocking in the thousands towards the main stage to witness a young musical phenomenon from Australia dish out an absolute show-stopper.” The Firefly Column, USA
“Daniel Champagne is a crossroads. Fusing the strong traditions of Blues, Folk and other roots art with pop showmanship and admirable lyrical ability. I firmly believe that he will become an ambassador for roots music in a time where it desperately needs representation.” The Indie Blender, CANADA
“Watching Daniel Champagne perform is a once in a lifetime experience. He is a true prodigy that plays like no one else could possibly play unless they spent at least two lifetimes studying the art.” BW Review, NEW ZEALAND
‘Daniel Champagne exudes a natural ease on stage, as he sings poignant lyrics and beautifully crafted melodies that invariably whisk the heart up with grand romanticism. Coupled with an exhilarating guitar talent that transcends mere acoustic playing to replicate a whole band, Champagne is just magical’ Themusic.com.au, AUSTRALIA
